ABOUT DR. NOAH LEBOWITZ

Dr. Noah Lebowitz is a second generation chiropractor/applied kinesiologist. His practice is located on the island of Maui and Dr. Lebowitz has a passion to help patients find their full healing potential through natural medicine.

During his formative years, while living on the western slope of Colorado, Dr. Lebowitz was inspired by his father, Dr. Michael Lebowitz. His father would often share stories from patients getting well from his treatments. Many of his father’s patients, having exhausted other medical avenues like other chiropractors, natural doctors, DO’s, MD’s, (and even some being seen at the Mayo Clinic) all without improvement. These patients suffered from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, allergies, depression, headaches, migraines, musculoskeletal issues, and other ailments. Many patients traveled across the country to visit his father, where they then got better after years of suffering.

Witnessing his father change the lives of his patients, Dr. Lebowitz went on to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a doctor of chiropractic (DC). A chiropractor by license, Dr. Lebowitz considers himself a Natural Health Physician. Using Applied Kinesiology (AK) and a specific method refined by his father, Dr. Lebowitz works to get to the root cause of issues for his patients. He identifies potentially present stressors to the body such as microbial infections, food sensitivities, heavy metal toxicity, and musculoskeletal imbalances from thorough examination, Applied Kinesiology, and lab testing.

Trained in nutrition, diet, functional biochemistry, neurology, acupuncture, and Applied Kinesiology, Dr. Lebowitz has been taught to treat each and every patient as a whole person, not simply masking the problem with a quick “fix”. Dr. Lebowitz works to treat his patients as naturally as possible without many of the side effects of today’s prescription drugs. Today, our bodies are easily overloaded in our society with environmental toxins, harmful dietary habits, and other stressors that inhibit our bodies. While working to remove these stressors, each and every patient is allowed to reach their full potential.

Before graduating Summa Cum Laude from Chiropractic College at Parker University in 2014, Dr. Lebowitz graduated with a degree in Biology (a 4.0 GPA)  from Arizona State University. In 2009, he interned at Yale Medical School studying ovarian cancer research at the Discovery to Cure Program and helped to publish an article in the scientific journal, Cell Cycle. He became certified in Professional Applied Kinesiology in 2012 by the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). Dr. Lebowitz has taken hundreds of hours of seminars in Applied Kinesiology, functional biochemistry, and other healthcare topics. Before moving to Maui, Dr. Lebowitz started and grew a successful practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, and worked with one of the top natural medicine doctors in the state, Dr. Jeff Robinson at AZ Multicare. He is married to Hannah, a former professional tennis coach, and together they have three children. Living by his motto, “Live what you teach, teach how you live,” Dr. Lebowitz has been inspired by his father, Dr. Michael Lebowitz, Dr. Steven Gangemi, DIBAK (Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology, Dr. George Goodheart, Jr., and Dr. JJ Gregor, DIBAK.

ABOUT DR. NOAH LEBOWITZ’S INFLUENCES

  • Dr. Michael Lebowitz

Most of what Dr. Lebowitz believes comes from watching his father teach and work on patients while he was growing up. Once Dr. Lebowitz started in chiropractic school, he  started to pick his father’s brain more and more to try learn and gain some of the knowledge he has accumulated over his 30+ years of practice. Dr. Michael Lebowitz has trained over two thousand DC’s, MD’s, DO’s, and ND’s in his specific AK protocol. His father had rural practices in West Virginia and western Colorado where he attracted patients in need from across the country. He has worked on many professional NHL, MLB, NFL, olympians, cyclists, runners, etc., throughout his years in practice, having great results at increasing performance. Dr. Lebowitz now practices with me in Pukalani / Makawao Maui  www.MichaelLebowitzDC.com

  • Dr. Steven Gangemi - Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology

After being turned onto his website, www.sock-doc.com, Dr. Lebowitz has since seen Dr. Gangemi practice what he preaches. Dr. Gangemi is a true believer in healing the body naturally and sees amazing results. Dr. Gangemi has himself competed in 20 Ironman Triathlons and ultra-marathons. He teaches natural movement workshops, eats organic food, raises his own chickens, is an apiarist (bee keeper), and lives the healthy lifestyle he teaches. Reading his articles, attending presentations, and taking a personal seminar with Dr. Gangemi has taught Dr. Lebowitz to dig deeper into patients to find the true root cause for ailments in patients.

  • Dr. George Goodheart, Jr.

Dr. George Goodheart, Jr.is the founder of Applied Kinesiology (AK) and the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). Among many distinctions, Dr. Goodheart was the first chiropractor on the US Olympic Medical Team in 1980. In 1964 Dr. Goodheart first "discovered" AK when treating a patient with a chronic winging scapula, which prevented him from working. He discovered nodules located near where the muscle originates and inserted them on the patient and after treating them in one treatment he was able to restore normal function, fixing his chronic issue. This is where AK started, and has expanded greatly since. While Dr. Goodheart passed away before Dr. Lebowitz earned his DC, Dr. Lebowitz owes all of his treatment skills to him for initially starting the ICAK. www.ICAKUSA.com. Dr. Goodheart, once said, “Anything can cause anything,” and that is the motto Dr. Noah Lebowitz follows in his practice. In every visit, every patient will be examined for the cause of the issue, and treated accordingly.

  • Dr. JJ Gregor

Dr. JJ Gregor is a Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology. Dr. Lebowtiz has taken over 150 hours in courses from Dr. Gregor; including earning a certification for a sponsored 100-hour Applied Kinesiology Certification course in his International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). When it comes to learning the foundations of Applied Kinesiology, Dr. Gregor shines in teaching the protocols developed by Dr. Goodheart. He is also an exceptional adjuster and has helped Dr. Lebowitz to learn the fine art of a chiropractic adjustment. www.DrJJGregor.com

About Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care officially began in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer. Two years later, Dr. Palmer created the first chiropractic college in the world, Palmer School of Chiropractic. While this is the “official” start of chiropractic, ancient Chinese and Greek writings write of “spinal manipulations” to ease lower back pain dating back to 2700 B.C., and is then later mentioned by Hippocrates, the founder of western medicine in the 4th century B.C. The word ‘chiropractic’ comes from the Greek words cheir (meaning ‘hand’) and praktos (meaning ‘done’), i.e., done by hand. Manual healing methods can be traced back to ancient times; however, it was not until the late 19th century that the chiropractic profession in the United States began to take shape.

Founded with the premise of diseases of the body stem from dysfunction of the nervous system, and if the nervous system isn’t functioning correctly, the brain can’t communicate efficiently with the rest of the body. Dysfunction can be caused by a spinal subluxation, a misalignment of the vertebrae, which causes inflammation on adjacent nerves. By correcting the subluxation using a specific chiropractic adjustment (manipulation) one can restore nervous system functioning by removing the inflammation, restoring proper nerve communication. Chiropractors focus on healing the nervous system without the use of surgery or drugs.

In school, Dr. Noah Lebowitz was trained in many different techniques of chiropractic care including, diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, activator (low force/no thrust), and others, giving him many different options when performing a chiropractic adjustment. This allows Dr. Lebowitz to pick whichever technique seems to be the best fit for the patient in creating a functional and beneficial change.

Dr. Noah Lebowitz has been granted a license to practice Chiropractic care and has met stringent educational and competence standards set by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
